The demand for student visa alone largely exceeds the capacities of the Embassy for swiftly handling all applications. Besides the student visa, the Embassy is equally dealing with a growing number of applications for family reunion visa as well as for visa for official missions or business trips.
We are currently not able to give exact information about our waiting time. The increase of possible applicants in the last months makes an estimate impossible.
No, the German embassy Dhaka does not use an APS office. You do not apply through another country’s office.
Master student visa application will be taken in by VFS starting the 02.01.2025.
Our waiting list system is not affected by the change coming January 2025.
Applicants do not have to do anything; you will get informed accordingly when it is time to allocate an appointment.
The only thing that will change is that the documents won’t be submitted directly in the embassy anymore but rather VFS takes them in.
In the long run it is planned to reduce our waiting period using different means.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to see an immediate decrease in the waiting period because the number of applicants increased exponentially in the last year in comparison to our processing capacities.
The use of VFS to take in the application and documents for us is the first step for us towards the decrease of the waiting period.
Please keep in mind that still every single application is handled and decided by the embassies staff.
All visas are processed by the visa section of the embassy. VFS is not part of the decision process and cannot influence the decision.
No, the Embassy informed all applicants during the registration process on its website that enrolment and examination dates cannot be considered.
We accept TELC, TOEFL and IELTS certificates. The certificates have to be obtained in person. Online certificates are not accepted in general.
If you have already enrolled at the German university using your current IELTS certificate, you do not need to submit any new IELTS certificates at the time of your visa interview. Please bring your current IELTS certificate for your interview.
The amount from your scholarship can be credited to your means of living. That means the amount that you put on your blocked account may be less. In this case you could deduct the awarded amount of Euros per month.
