As part of the German Presidency of the Council of the Baltic Sea States 2011-2012, the Baltic Sea Days will be held at the Federal Foreign Office from 23 to 25 April.
The highpoint will be a ceremony on the evening of 24 April with Federal President Joachim Gauck delivering a speech on cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region at 6 p.m.
A reception hosted by Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office Cornelia Pieper will follow.
As Germany currently holds the CBSS Presidency, the Federal Government would like to emphasize the Baltic Sea Region’s special importance. The Baltic Sea Days therefore provide an overall framework for events and exhibitions in Berlin and the north German federal states aimed at strengthening the broad range of cooperation projects in the Baltic Sea Region in politics, business and society.
