Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock will depart this evening on her first trip to Paris, Brussels and Warsaw.

On Wednesday evening (8 December), Minister Baerbock will first fly to Paris, where she will meet for talks with her French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian on Thursday morning (9 December), followed by a press conference.

Around noon on Thursday, Minister Baerbock will travel on to Brussels, for talks with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell. Furthermore, Minister Baerbock will use her time in Brussels for talks, inter alia, with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. The Minister’s visit to Brussels will include a press statement.

On Friday morning (10 December), Minister Baerbock will travel on to Warsaw, where she will meet for talks with Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau. This will be followed by a joint press conference. The Foreign Minister’s stop in Warsaw will include a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and a meeting with the Ombudsman Marcin Wiącek. Minister Baerbock will return to Berlin on Friday afternoon.

The Foreign Minister’s discussions in Paris, Brussels and Warsaw will focus on current bilateral, European and foreign policy issues, including the situation between Russia and Ukraine, the global climate crisis, Poland’s OSCE Chairmanship in 2022 and the situation at the Polish-Belarusian border, as well as on the future of the European Union and France’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
