Germany is making available 45 million euro for the regional work of UNRWA in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and the West Bank.

This includes 22 million euro from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, with 15 million euro helping to support basic health and education services for Palestinian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon, and 7 million euro going to the Cash-for-Work programme for Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. The Federal Foreign Office is making available 23 million euro in assistance for Palestinian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria, as well as for food aid in the West Bank.

The announced contributions are part of the regional assistance we provide to UNRWA on a regular basis. The German Government has made it clear that a decision regarding our future support for UNRWA in the Gaza Strip will be taken based on the outcome of the current assessment and review process.
