National Action Plan for Business and Human Rights (NAP) Monitoring event at the Federal Foreign Office
Within the scope of a monitoring process being carried out over the next two years, the German Government is reviewing to what extent companies based in Germany are meeting their due diligence obligations relating to human rights. This monitoring process is anchored in the National Action Plan for Business and Human Rights adopted by the Federal Government in December 2016.
From 4.30 to 7.00 p.m. on Tuesday, 26 March 2019, the Federal Foreign Office will present the NAP monitoring process to interested businesses and members of the public. The focus will be on the approach and procedure involved in the monitoring process. Businesses will also be able to see the questionnaire which is due to be sent out from May. By way of preparation for the questionnaire, detailed interviews were conducted with around 30 businesses in autumn 2018. The results of these interviews will also be presented at the event on 26 March.
